Dogs in Need of Help and Rescue Around the U.S.A.
Look for an Animal Rescue Group in your area, and contact them immediately.
What To Do If You Find A Stray Animal
- Try to avoid calling any government agency, law enforcement, or animal control initially – as these animals may end up in a County shelter and potentially be “put to sleep”
- Check the collar for the pet owners name and phone number
- Talk to neighbors to see if a local pet has been lost
- Visit a local veterinarian or shelter and have the pet scanned for a micro chip
- If you’re in South Georgia – contact us for help and/or suggestions

I’ll be honest....this was one of the hard ones. Sweet Dolly Rae came into my life in January. She was at a local shelter and I was blessed to have the opportunity to help her. She came to live with me for a short time, but I fell for her really fast! She was heartworm positive & a victim of abuse. She couldn’t have been any sweeter!!!! I loved her..., but she was crazy about me, too! THAT is what made it so hard. She was always so excited and thrilled to see me!!! She thought she was my lap baby!!!!
She went places with me, rode on the golf cart, sat in the swing, played ball........
Today, when I put her into the crate on the transport van (yes, I had to load her!!! I turned to walk away and she tried to follow me!!!!!) she looked at me with those big eyes, and I could tell she didn’t understand what was happening. All I can say is....”If you love something set it free.....”
I know this baby will have the best life in Canada! NDR is awesome about finding wonderful families. In fact, Dolly Rae has a family waiting for her arrival! I’ve already “met” Dolly’s new mom who has promised to keep in touch!
Dolly Rae will always have a special place in my heart. Some just do that to you. I’ll be sad for a time, but, when the pictures and posts of her in her new home start coming, I’ll know I did the right thing.
Rest assured, Dolly’s pen will be filled all to soon; I already have another foster on the way. That’s the way this works. There are so many in need and so few to help.
Fostering is hard, sometimes really hard, but knowing you were a part of changing a dog’s life, and making a family complete, well, that makes it all worthwhile! ... See MoreSee Less
Will everyone please be on the lookout for these 2 dogs? Dora and Bott jumped out of their pen at some point today!!! They are really friendly! ... See MoreSee Less
I try to give regularly to DITR. It is a organization focused on the betterment of the lives of animals that have been abandoned and mistreated. My wonderful friend Delores Davis Walden is devoted to this organization. The work that she and her friends are doing for these unfortunate animals is nothing short of amazing. ... See MoreSee Less

Quiet evenings are unheard of around our house. Finally, one quiet evening and we were so proud. Just as I verbally bragged on the peaceful evening the phone rang with a desperate plea for 2 pups that had been abandoned in a busy parking lot 30 min away. We jumped in the car and done what we do. #SavingLives #ThisMakes11Today #MyHusbandIsTheBest 😅❤️🐶🐾 ... See MoreSee Less
Thank you for taking them and doing what you do. I wish people that had pets or abandoned puppies weren’t so ignorant about spaying and neutering them. I have seen so many dead pups on sides of roads over past couple weeks. Senseless and so unfair.7 days ago
